Verzinkerij Kampen provides total solutions

January 2009 – Verzinkerij Kampen recently started to provide degalvanisation for steel materials in addition to its galvanisation services. Degalvanising used materials and then galvanising them again, where appropriate prior to powder coating, makes it possible to use them again for the same applications, such as crash barriers, balcony fences and scaffolding material. The sustainable recycling of existing materials is, given the shortage of raw materials and the costs of new material, a good option and it is increasingly widespread in renovation projects.

Lean manufacturing

January 2009 – Verzinkerij Kampen uses the “Lean Manufacturing” method to get to grips with its business processes at all levels: from organising administration to designating regular workplaces for auxiliary equipment. Planning and transport for the Duplex system were also carefully examined and adapted. As a result, turnaround times have been cut down and so lead times have been too.

Old canteen demolished

January 2009 – The building that has served as an office, and then as a canteen, for the past 14 years has been demolished.

Durability and quality for stable builders

December 2008 – In the Netherlands, there are numerous horse-lovers who house their horses in stables. These stables are made up of stalls. That makes it possible to set out the stable so that things are safe and clear for both the horses and the stable staff. Verzinkerij Kampen galvanises and coats stalls and Poedercoating Hoogeveen powder coats some of the materials.

Durable play feature

October 2008 – It's important for children to play outside. Not just so they can release their energy, but also to learn about social contacts with other children. Verzinkerij Kampen and Verzinkerij Heerhugowaard have provided durable galvanisation for a striking playground feature that also incorporates Staco gratings.

Duplex for new signage at Dutch railway stations

September 2008 – To enhance safety at Dutch railway stations, various stations have been provided with new signage. Clearly recognizable steel railings, balustrades and plating in black and red have been mounted, making the station furnishings more easily visible. Verzinkerij Kampen and Poedercoating Hoogeveen applied the Duplex system to the new station furnishings.

NGS goes into operation

August 2008 – Verzinkerij Kampen has switched to the NGS software package. It was developed specially for the surface treatment trade and so it is ideal for Verzinkerij Kampen. The new software provides Verzinkerij Kampen with a complete picture of operational processes, making it possible to trace any specific order at all times. This means that Verzinkerij Kampen can provide even better service for its customers.

Dimensional bookcase

July 2008 – The largest public library in the Netherlands, the Public Library of Amsterdam, is located near Central Station and the IJ river on the Oosterdok Island. It is more than just a place to borrow books. Arco Roosters supplied about 2,000 m2 of pressed gratings (type RR 2-30) for the library. The gratings were hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Kampen.

Safety is the number-one priority!

March 2008 – Verzinkerij Kampen specialises in hot-dip galvanising for steel and is one of Europe's most modern galvanising plants. In order to safeguard quality, flexibility and good service, internal logistical procedures are important. The safety of the workforce is the chief concern. So Verzinkerij Kampen is always optimising its business processes and reducing operating risks. This is the background to the recent installation of a new precaution.
